The population estimates were produced by staff in the Utah Department of Health Center for Health Data and Informatics. Linear interpolation of U.S. Census Bureau and ESRI ZIP Code data provided annual population estimates for ZIP Code areas by sex and age groups. All estimates were then weighted so that county totals matched the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) through a collaborative agreement with the U.S. Census Bureau, IBIS Version 2017 7 Meth2015 ICD Stands for International Classification of Diseases. It is a coding system maintained by the World Health Organization and the U.S. National Center for Health Statistics used to classify causes of death on death certificates and diagnoses, injury causes, and medical procedures for hospital and emergency department visits. These codes are updated every decade or so to account for advances in medical technology. The U.S. is currently using the 10th revision (ICD-10) to code causes of death. The 9th revision (ICD-9) has been used for hospital and emergency department visits until 3rd quarter of 2015. The ICD-10 was used from the 4th quarter of 2015. InjICD9 All injury cases in this query module are consistent with the injury case definitions found in the Consensus Recommendations for Using Hospital Discharge Data for Injury Surveillance (2003) developed by the State and Territorial Injury Program Directors Association (STIPDA) Injury Surveillance Workgroup, available at [http://ibis.health.utah.gov/pdf/resource/query/STIPDA.pdf] (see pages 7-11). EDTreRel Treat and Release: A patient that visits the ED, but is not admitted to the hospital as an inpatient. The patient does not stay overnight and is not admitted to another department of the hospital. EDEnc "Emergency Department Encounter" refers to a consolidated billed ED encounter which may include follow up visits, such as removal of stitches. Sarea As of November 22, 2017, the IBIS system has been updated to use a new algorithm which uses both ZIP and county information to designate Local Health District (LHD) and Utah Small Area. Queries by LHD or Small Area may yield different numbers than in prior months. For more information go to [http://ibis.health.utah.gov/pdf/resource/Algorithm.pdf] GeoLHD_2015 Prior to 2015 San Juan County was part of the Southeast Local Health District. In 2015 the San Juan County Local Health District was formed. Data reported are for all years using the current boundaries.
