Relevant Population Characteristics
According to 2018 observational surveys of seat belt use, Utah males (86.7%) are less likely than females (91.8%) to wear a seat belt. Seat belt usage rates are higher in urban counties than rural counties. SUV (91.6%) and van (93.4%) occupants had the highest overall seat belt usage.
