Domestic Violence-related Homicides per 100,000 Population by Sex, Aged 18 Years and Older, Utah, 2003-2008

Notes

Data are from the Utah Domestic Violence Fatality Review Committee. The following definition is used in case ascertainment. 1) The underlying cause of death must be coded on the death certificate as a homicide (ICD-10 External Causes of Death Codes X85 to X99, Y00 to Y09, Y87.1). 2) The Domestic Violence Fatality Review Committee classifies the incident as domestic violence through the identification of the relationships between all parties involved. 3) The victim is 18 years of age and older.
