Why Is This Important?

People's age, sex, culture, and living and working conditions affect their health in important ways that must be considered in planning for the public health of the population.

Data Notes

Median age for all Utahns was 27.1. The numbers that appear here are from the U.S. 2000 Census, for April 2000. The Governor's Office of Planning and Budget releases updated Utah mid-year (July 1) population estimates and projections by year, county, sex, and single year of age. Those estimates are generated by the Utah Process Economic and Demographic (UPED) model, and are typically released each January with the Economic Report to the Governor. Numbers from that model are available on the IBIS query system (from IBIS Homepage, click "Query Databases" and select "General Population Estimates.")
