IBIS-PH Indicator Reports Introduction

Welcome to the IBIS-PH Indicator Reports page. A health indicator is a numeric measure that depicts the status of a population or a health system on a core public health construct. An Indicator Report provides online numerical data for a health indicator as well as its public health context, including what the current status is and what is being done to improve it.

Programs throughout the Utah Department of Health prepare these Indicator Reports to provide an overview of a specific public health issue in Utah. For more detailed information about Indicator Reports see the Indicator Report Contents and Usage page.

If more information is needed than what the Indicator Report provides, the Custom Query System is available or the program can be contacted directly using the information provided in the Indicator Report footer (at the bottom of the page).

Getting Started

You may use these indexes to browse IBIS Indicator Reports. You will find links to these indexes in the drop-down menu under the "Indicator Reports" tab at the top of every IBIS page.

Indicator Reports:

  1. Choose a way to find an Indicator Report - Since there are over 180 Indicator Reports to choose from, several indexes exist to help find and select the desired report.
    • Categorized Index - Indicator Reports are placed in one or more of several categorization schemes, such as by program, by data source, or by whether they include a particular community graphical view such as local health district or race.
    • Alphabetical Index - All available Indicator Reports are listed in alphabetical order by their titles.
    • Public Health Outcome Measures Report (PHOM) - Indicator Reports that are considered priority public health objectives for Utah are included in this online report. The PHOM serves two important functions: as Utah's Healthy People plan and report, and as the Utah Department of Health annual report to the state legislature.
    • IBIS-PH site specific search using a browser - In Google, for instance, enter search term(s) followed by 'site:ibis.health.utah.gov'.
  2. Select the Indicator Report
  3. View additional Indicator Report information by using the Indicator Report page's left hand navigation menu. This menu allows viewing important facts, other charts, numerical data table, related indicators, related links, and the complete report.

Community Snapshot Reports

These reports provide Indicator Report data organized for a single local health district. The Utah Department of Health plans to include additional community types starting with Utah Small Areas. Follow the steps to build your own table of Indicator Report data for a Utah community (local health districts only right now).
